Canada Day at CP proved to be a very popular event again this year. The bowlers took over the lawn first for our annual Turner Mixed Triples tournament. Three games of eight ends finished with the squad of Kevin B/ Russell C/ Brenda D taking the Shield. Alan F/ Mark F/Dan N were a close second followed by the squad of Mark C/Trudy R/Lisa N.
After games the large crowd of bowlers and croquet players were treated to a scrumptious bbq of burgers, smokies and hot dogs. Members filled a table full of home made salads and desserts to ensure no one went away hungry.
Croquet took over the lawn afterward for fun hoop games while entertaining the throngs of Victorians making their way down to the Inner Harbour for fireworks. Many thanks to all the members who worked hard to mark Canada’s 156th birthday on our 100th!
