The Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling Club

plays the Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club for the Historic Alexander Cup

In 1926 J.H. Alexander donated the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Victoria Cup for the CPR Lawn Bowling League of BC. This competition took place between CPR clubs from Victoria, Vancouver, Revelstoke, Kamloops and Nelson. It was awarded in 1926, 1927, 1936, 1938, 1939 and 1940.

The Cup sat in a trophy case in our clubhouse, until found again in 2012 and resurrected as a bi-annual challenge between the only two remaining CPR Lawn Bowl clubs in BC.  Vancouver Lawn Bowling club, playing in Queen Elizabeth Park,  won the cup in the first installment of this new challenge.

This year, the games will take place in Vancouver on July 26th and in Victoria, at CPLBC, on August 9th.  The total aggregate scores from both matches will determine this years winner. Following the matches, both teams will retire to the patio after for refreshments including a well deserved Victoria Gin and tonic.
