2016 marked the third time Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling CLub and the Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club contested the historic ALEXANDER CUP trophy.  The Alexander Cup originated as a competition between Canadian Pacific lawn bowling clubs throughout the province of BC.  Held every two years, this event has our two clubs competing in a home and home series of games.  This year, CP hosted Vancouver on July 23rd and they in turn hosted our club on August 13th.  In both events, five teams of three played in a mixed triples format with total aggregate points being the deciding factor.  CP managed to win 3 of the five games in July, however ended the day with an almost insurmountable 18 point deficit.  Play at Vancouver was similar with CP again winning 3 of the 5 games but only gaining back a handful of points.  The Alexander Cup goes back to the Vancouver club for another two years.  A well deserved win for Vancouver.  In both fixtures, those members who participated enjoyed some great bowling, camaraderie and food.  The Vancouver club were, as always, gracious visitors and tremendous hosts.  We look forward to 2018.

Following both events, all participants enjoyed sunshine on the patio’s with some well deserved Gin and Tonic’s courtesy of VICTORIA GIN.
